- What is Zalgo text?
Zalgo text is normal text with lots of Unicode combining marks stacked on each letter: accents, dots, lines and hooks meant to sit on a letter, piled up until they spill out above and below the line. The name comes from an old internet horror meme, and it's also called glitch text, cursed text or corrupted text. - How does glitch text work?
Every letter is followed by a few invisible-on-their-own characters that draw on top of it. Your phone or computer stacks them on the letter before, so the text keeps its letters underneath (it can still be searched and read) but looks broken. The more marks, the taller and messier it gets. - Why does Zalgo text cover the lines around it, and how do I make it lighter?
The marks aren't limited to the line, so tall stacks overlap the text above and below. If it's too much, use Light Zalgo or Glitch, or Zalgo above or Zalgo below to keep one side clean. Some apps also trim long stacks or limit how many characters a name can have. - How do I remove Zalgo text?
