Which one to use

Superscript
Letters and digits raised above the line, with tiny capitals where Unicode has them. Q has no raised version, so it uses a lookalike.
Tiny lowercase
Every letter as a tiny raised lowercase, the smallest and most even look. Capitals become lowercase.
Digits and symbols
Only numbers and + − = ( ) go up, for exponents like x² and footnote marks.

Where it works

  • Instagram, X and Discord
  • WhatsApp and Telegram
  • Word, Google Docs and notes
  • Facebook names, which only allow plain letters
  • Accents like é and ñ are added as a separate mark, which some apps place slightly off
  • Screen readers may read it letter by letter or skip it

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • How do I type a superscript number like x² on a keyboard?
On Windows, hold Alt and type 0178 on the numeric keypad for ², 0179 for ³ and 0185 for ¹. The other digits have no shortcut, so copy ⁴ ⁵ ⁶ ⁷ ⁸ ⁹ ⁰ from the generator above.
  • Is it the same as the superscript button in Word or Google Docs?
No. In documents, use the real format (Ctrl+Shift+= in Word, Ctrl+. in Google Docs): it keeps the text searchable and scales with the font. Use this generator where there are no formatting buttons, such as Instagram, X, Discord, WhatsApp or a plain-text field.
  • Why do some capital letters look like lowercase?
Unicode has raised capitals for most of the alphabet, but not for C, F, Q, S, X, Y and Z in a form that displays reliably. We use the small lowercase version for those, so the text always renders.
  • Where can I use these superscript letters?
Our copy-and-paste fonts work on any platform with text input — from social media to chats to documents. Simply copy the style you like and paste it anywhere.
  • Are these fonts free to use?
Yes, it's free. Every Unicode text style can be generated, copied, and shared with no fees or limits.
